The United Nations World Food Programme

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the food-assistance arm of the United Nations and the world’s largest humanitarian organisation fighting hunger. It delivers food assistance where no one else can, responding faster, smarter and more efficiently to reduce hunger during emergencies and help communities build resilience against future shocks.

WFP supports more than 120 million people annually, reaching the most vulnerable across countries affected by conflict, climate shocks and economic crisis. Its work spans emergency food distribution, school meals, nutrition programmes and logistics.

In Laos, WFP works with the government and partners to improve food security, nutrition and resilience among rural communities.
