Its focus is on enhancing fiscal policies, building reserves, and integrating into the global gold market.   NOW HIRING!   Position Title:   Credit Management Manager   Department:     Credit Management  Report to:   Chief of Credit Officer Location: Lao Bullion Bank, Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR Business group: Banking Job Summary Credit Management Manager is a strategic leader responsible for designing and implementing the organization’s credit policies, risk management framework, and collections strategy. This role ensures the optimization of credit risk exposure while supporting business growth, regulatory compliance, and financial stability. Credit Management Manager will lead a team of credit, analysts, and collections specialists, fostering a culture of risk awareness and operational excellence. Role & Responsibilities: 1. Credit Strategy & Governance: Develop and execute the organization’s credit risk strategy aligned with business objectives. Establish and enforce credit policies, underwriting standards, and approval frameworks. Monitor macroeconomic trends, industry risks, and regulatory changes to adapt credit strategies proactively. 2. Portfolio Risk Management: Oversee the creditworthiness assessment of high-value clients, counterparties, and portfolios. Define risk appetite metrics (e.g., exposure limits, concentration risks) and ensure adherence. Implement early warning systems to identify and mitigate deteriorating credit risks. 3. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and scale the credit team (underwriting, collections, analytics). Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations to balance risk/reward. Drive automation and digital transformation (e.g., AI-driven scoring, ERP integrations) to enhance efficiency. 4. Collections & Recovery Oversight:   Design strategies to minimize delinquencies, bad debt, and write-offs. Optimize collections processes, including legal recovery and restructuring of distressed accounts. Review high-stakes negotiations and settlements.   5. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with local/international regulations (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9, SOX). Present credit risk reports to the Board/Executive Committee, including stress testing and scenario analysis. Liaise with auditors, regulators, and rating agencies as needed. 6. Stakeholder Engagement: Advise senior leadership on credit risk implications of new products, markets, or M&A activities. Partner with IT to enhance credit risk systems (e.g., credit scoring models, predictive analytics). Represent the company in industry forums and with banking/financial partners. Qualifications and Skills: Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred. Certifications:  CFA, FRM, CPA, or equivalent risk/credit certifications are highly desirable. Experience:  10+ years in credit risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (banking, corporate credit, fintech, or related sectors). Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of credit risk modeling, loan syndication, and regulatory frameworks. Proficiency in data analytics tools (SQL, Python, SAS) and ERP/credit management systems. Advanced financial statement analysis and covenant monitoring. Leadership Traits: Strong decision-making under ambiguity; ability to influence C-suite stakeholders. Proven track record in team building and process optimization. Strategic mindset with a focus on long-term risk/reward balance.
