Service Fraternel d'Etraide (SFE) is a non-profit organization committed to fostering community development and self-reliance across Laos. As our External Evaluator, you will play a critical role in ensuring our programs achieve measurable, lasting impact by providing independent, rigorous assessments of our initiatives. This position directly influences how we refine our strategies, allocate resources, and demonstrate accountability to our partners and the communities we serve. You will take the lead on designing and executing comprehensive evaluations for a range of development projects, from livelihood support to education and health. Your work will involve reviewing project frameworks, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, conducting field visits to project sites, and producing clear, actionable reports. You will collaborate closely with our program teams and local stakeholders to ensure evaluations are culturally relevant and grounded in real-world conditions. To succeed in this role, you should bring substantial experience in monitoring and evaluation within an INGO or non-profit context. A strong command of both logical frameworks and participatory methods is essential, along with the ability to translate complex data into practical recommendations. Familiarity with the development landscape in Laos or the Mekong region is a significant advantage. This is a consultative position that requires travel to rural communities across multiple provinces, so flexibility and a genuine commitment to grassroots impact are key. You will work with a dedicated, mission-driven team that values honest feedback and continuous learning. Your independent perspective will be instrumental in helping SFE evolve its approach and deepen its contribution to sustainable change in Laos.
