Good Neighbors Laos, an international humanitarian development organization, is seeking a Finance Officer with a Lao nationality to support its financial operations in the country. This role is central to ensuring transparent and accountable management of resources that directly impact community development and emergency relief programs across Laos. You will oversee day-to-day financial tasks, making sure all transactions comply with local laws and organizational policies, while contributing to the effective implementation of projects funded by international donors. As the Finance Officer, your responsibilities cover the full cycle of general accounting, from processing invoices and managing payments to reconciling ledgers and preparing accurate financial statements. You will handle tax filings and payments in line with Lao tax regulations, ensuring timely and precise compliance. The role also involves monitoring credit control, including tracking receivables and following up on outstanding accounts to maintain healthy cash flow. Additionally, you will support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries internally and externally. You will work closely with program teams and partners to verify financial data, strengthen internal controls, and ensure that spending remains within approved budgets. Your attention to detail will help prevent discrepancies and foster confidence among stakeholders. Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets is essential, as is familiarity with local tax laws. Candidates should hold a degree in accounting or finance, with at least two years of relevant experience in a similar setting.
