Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off. Reporting to Senior Geotechnical Engineer, the main objective of this position is to provide support to both open pit and underground mining operations by delivering quality data collection through various mapping campaigns and data interpretations critical to geotechnical design and risk remediation across all PBM sites. The Geotechnical Engineer must demonstrate good understanding of updated and industry standard data collection concepts and interpretations especially in geotechnical mapping. The Geotechnical Engineer must be able to deliver structural and rock mass analysis from mapping data incorporated with drillhole logging data in a timely manner for short to long term mining, risk remediation, and other PBM development plans. Together with the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, he shall be responsible in updating the geotechnical model and supporting short term design analysis.   Your responsibilities will include:   Manage quality geotechnical data from data collection campaigns including, but not limited to, structural field and photogrammetry mapping and integrate findings with other data sources. Perform bench scale to inter-ramp scale structural data analysis such as kinematic, structural failure back analysis, rock fall analysis, and probability of undercutting analysis to confirm short term mining plans. Update and validate the geotechnical models (rock mass model and structural model) and provide necessary information to mining operations, drill and blast, and geotechnical design works. Develop high level mapping plans from interim and LOM designs, differentiating critical and non-critical areas to optimize data collection. Peer reviews, data interpretation, and technical reporting of geotechnical interpretations for mining operations and geotechnical design works including communication of data confidence and limitations, so data is well understood and received prior to application in the analysis. Support geotechnical design engineering works through short term design analysis and risk assessment reviews. Understand and liaise with geotechnical operations engineer to inform structural components for optimizing slope monitoring strategies and provide realistic and practical solutions for risk to mining and production team. Liaise with underground geotechnical engineering team for supporting the underground operations, as necessary, and confirm that data from underground developments are incorporated in the open pit models (and vice versa). Review and update geotechnical mapping forms, procedure, and database files ensuring proper handling and storage. Ensure compliance to Geotechnical standard as per PBM Ground Control Management Plan and PBM Ground Control Standard. Proactively identify of geotechnical risk by review of the quarterly and annual mining forecast and updating necessary risk assessments. Provide support to geotech
