JUNIOR SCIENTIST FOR THE ENTOMOLOGY LAB

Institut Pasteur du Laos is seeking a Junior Scientist to join its Entomology Lab, where your work will directly support the institute’s mission to address vector-borne diseases and public health challenges in the region. As a key member of the research team, you will contribute to laboratory-based studies that advance understanding of insect biology, disease transmission, and potential control strategies. Your role is essential in generating reliable data that informs both local and regional health policies.

You will be responsible for assisting with the design and execution of experiments, including the preparation and analysis of biological and chemical samples. Daily tasks involve maintaining insect colonies, conducting molecular and biochemical assays, and ensuring that all laboratory protocols are followed with precision and safety. You will also support the development of new methodologies, helping to improve the lab’s capacity for innovative research.

A background in sciences, particularly in entomology, biology, or a related field, will provide the foundation for success here. Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, chemical handling, and data analysis is important, as is familiarity with research and development processes. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality scientific outputs.
