Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.     This is a unique time to join the Phu Bia Mining team. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off. Reports to the Metallurgical Laboratory Team Leader, the Metallurgical Technician – Level 2 is responsible for supporting laboratory operations by conducting routine metallurgical testing, data analysis, and assisting with process optimization activities. This role ensures that laboratory work complies with all safety and quality standards.   Your responsibilities will include: Perform routine laboratory workflows to deliver timely and accurate test works in full compliance with safety standards.  Ensure correct and safe execution of all sampling protocols, preparation tasks, and metallurgical test work procedures.  Maintain calibrated and reliable laboratory equipment and promptly troubleshoot or report issues to the Metallurgists.  Deliver accurate test results, lead assigned metallurgical test work and sampling campaigns, and prepare required daily laboratory reports to support plant performance and decision-making.  Support continuous improvement initiatives from Metallurgists to enhance laboratory processes, efficiency, equipment utilisation, and data accuracy.  Adhere to all laboratory HSE requirements, promote a strong safety culture, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with company and environmental standards, including proper housekeeping and safe chemical and reagent handling.    To be successful in this role, you will require: Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, or Mining Engineering; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. A minimum of two years’ experience in mineral processing or laboratory work is considered an advantage. Strong communication skills in both Lao and English. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
