Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC) is the developer and operator of the Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Project (NT1HPP), a 177-metre-high dam on the Nam Kading River in Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR. The project has a total installed capacity of 650 MW, with 520 MW exported to Thailand and 130 MW directed to domestic consumption. NT1PC was granted a 27-year concession by the Government of Lao PDR to build and operate the hydroelectric dam. NT1PC is committed to environmentally sustainable and socially responsible national development. The company works closely with its shareholders, the Government of Laos, international institutions including the IFC, ADB, and World Bank, and project-affected communities. All environmental and social impacts are managed under a comprehensive Environmental and Social Management and Monitoring Plan (ESMMP), with regular monitoring of water quality, hydrology, fisheries, and ecosystems.
