Cord Laos is seeking experienced candidates for the role of Long-Term Consultancy: Land Rights Technical Expert. This is a re-advertisement of a critical position within an organization dedicated to supporting community land rights and sustainable resource management in Laos. You will lead technical efforts that directly influence local livelihoods and environmental stewardship. In this capacity, you are expected to bring deep expertise in land tenure, legal frameworks, and participatory mapping. You will advise on program strategy, train local partners, and ensure that land rights interventions are both equitable and effective. The role involves close collaboration with government bodies and civil society, requiring a diplomat’s touch and a clear grasp of the Laos context. Your typical work will involve analyzing land use data, drafting policy briefs, and facilitating dialogues between stakeholders. You must be comfortable with frequent travel to rural areas and possess exceptional communication skills for reporting to donors and senior management. This is a hands-on advisory role, not a desk-based assignment. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in agriculture, forestry, or fisheries, combined with a strong track record in land rights programming. A degree in a relevant field and fluency in English are essential, with Lao language skills a significant advantage.
