Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.     This is a unique time to join the Phu Bia Mining team. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off. Reporting to the PBM Supt Asset Management - Electrical, the Senior Underground Communication Officer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing underground communication systems, fire indication systems, and CCTV infrastructure across the Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation. The role also supports electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational performance while maximizing equipment availability at an optimal cost.   Your responsibilities will include:   Use standard maintenance work practices, occupational health and safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures. Carry out maintenance and ensure reliable operation of radio communications, fire – Indicating system and CCTV. Assist in electrical and instrument repairs of all underground electrical services. 100% completion of all scheduled PM inspections work order information filled correctly. Reporting all incidents and accidents. Reporting all equipment problems and issues found on PM inspections. Work with others from every department. Perform housekeeping on every task and allocated areas practicing 5S  Tool management returning tools same day to tool store keeping tools clean and serviceable zero loss of tool. Time management reporting for duty on time daily manage lunch breaks to allotted time. All leave breaks must be approved before taking. All sick leave to have a Doctor Certificate. Plan each task and be Job Ready for all tasks. To be successful in this role, you will require:   Diploma or higher qualification in Radio Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial electrical, instrumentation, or underground mining environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP or computerized maintenance management systems will be an advantage. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Valid Class BC Driver's License. Ability to work safely in underground mining environments, including confined spaces.
