Competitive salary and benefits package – Roaming position with a roster of 14 days on and 7 days off, comprising 7 day shifts and 7 night shifts.   THIS POSITION IS AVAILABLE TO LAO NATIONALS ONLY.   Phu Bia Mining Limited is a Lao-registered company, 90 per cent owned by PanAust, an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company, with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.     This is a unique time to join the Phu Bia Mining team. Site-based employees work a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off; 9 days on, 5 days off; or 14 days on, 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane – based employees work 5 days per week with 2 days off. Reporting to the Senior QA/QC & Monitoring Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting field and laboratory testing, collecting and recording monitoring data, maintaining testing and instrumentation records, and supporting quality control activities. This role plays an important part in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of testing and monitoring information used to support site operations. Your responsibilities will include:   Collect, register, and prepare field samples in accordance with approved procedures and schedules. Conduct laboratory and field testing, including soil, rock, concrete, and monitoring-related tests, in accordance with required standards. Retrieve, record, and maintain monitoring data from instrumentation systems, piezometers, rainfall stations, and other monitoring equipment. Enter, validate, and maintain testing and monitoring data within spreadsheets, databases, and online monitoring systems. Prepare and report testing results, monitoring data, and stockpile information in a timely and accurate manner. Support quality control activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Maintain testing equipment and monitoring instruments to ensure reliable operation. Comply with all PBM safety policies, procedures, and standards. To be successful in this role, you will require:   Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years' experience in civil testing, monitoring, soil and rock testing, or a related filed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage. Basic English communication skills. Valid Class A and B driver's licences will be an advantage.
